Groundwater Impact Study – Fertilizer Plant

Scope of work

  • Well/Piezometer Installation
  • Groundwater Monitoring, Sampling, and Reporting
  • Background & Issue Identification

Local villagers reported deteriorating well water quality, suspecting contamination from a nearby fertilizer plant. Stratus was engaged to assess potential pollutant migration and its impact on groundwater.

    Investigation & Sampling

Stratus collaborated with IIT Madras, collecting water samples from both village wells and the fertilizer plant site. Monitoring wells were installed in fractured bedrock to track vertical and lateral movement of VOCs in groundwater.

    Findings & Compliance Reporting

The study findings were compiled into a detailed hydrogeological report, submitted to regulatory authorities for further action. Recommendations included enhanced effluent treatment and groundwater protection measures.
