Identifying the Contamination
A failed petroleum pipeline led to gasoline and diesel leaks, contaminating soil and groundwater. The pollution affected numerous domestic and commercial wells in the area, requiring immediate investigation.
Assessment & Feasibility Testing
Stratus conducted comprehensive subsurface investigations, assessing the extent of contamination to soil and ground water. We performed shallow and deep groundwater well installation using Hollow Stem Auger R15, collected water samples, monitored vapor intrusion risks, and analysed contamination plume migration.
Remediation Strategy
A phased remediation approach was implemented:
- Free product removal using manual bailing, mechanical skimmers, and absorbent socks.
- Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) and Air Sparging (AS) to remove volatile contaminants and restore soil and groundwater quality.
